Our Ministries

Church Social Responsibility (CSR)

As part of its community projects, the Church carries out various activities like visiting an elderly care home regularly; supporting the local Cardiff food bank; community area clean-up in association with Communities First, a community focused programme that supports the Welsh government’s tackling poverty agenda, and also organising various local events that impacts our community for Jesus.

We are also part of South Wales Churches’ Refugee Network and participate in dialogue concerning refugees and asylum seekers.

Boys Brigade

The Boys Brigade at the Garden of the Lord meets every Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm. It is open to both boys and girls from infant and junior school ages.  At the Boys Brigade, the children learn more about the Christian faith through inspiring Bible activities and they also develop new skills through creative craft, sports and fun filled games.

If you want any more information about the Boys Brigade at the Garden of the Lord, please speak to one of the ministers after the service or fill in an inquiry form here.

Building Block Centres

The Building Blocks Centres is the small groups system of the church designed to promote spiritual growth and to foster meaningful Christian relationships. Building Blocks Centres are exciting forums to discover God’s purposes for our lives and to grow in faith and power.

We have two main categories of Building Block Centres namely- the weekly Bible Study groups that meet to study the Word of God and our specialty groups such as Heart of Worship, Tabitha and the Potter’s House which focus on specific issues such as helping people to develop greater intimacy in worship, to participate in community work or to view in a relaxed atmosphere inspiring and edifying Christian films.

Remember Building Blocks is all about developing in our Christian faith and reaching out to others- so join a Building Block Centre today. Contact us to find out the nearest Bible Study Centre to you or register to receive our weekly email bulletin that provides updates on our Bible Study Centres and the activities of other Building Blocks centres.

The Beautiful Women

“…the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” 1 Peter 3 v 4 (N.I.V)

What is true unfading beauty? How valuable is it to God? Who are the women in the Bible that radiated true unfading beauty? What are the secrets to cultivating true unfading beauty? How is true unfading beauty connected with spiritual growth, success, personal esteem and well being?

Get answers to these questions and more as you join us for our monthly women’s meeting which takes place every first Sunday right after the service!

The Beautiful Women also organises a monthly Women of Prayer meeting every second Saturday of the month which takes place between 10 am  and 12 noon. Please join us for this refreshing and glorious time of prayer and intimacy with the Lord. Something beautiful always happens when women gather to pray!

Children/Teen Churches

All your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be your children’s peace.  Isaiah 54 v 13 (NIV)

Our mission for the Children’s Church is  based on Isaiah 54 v 13; Proverbs 22:6 and Matt 19:14. The objective of the Children’s Church is to share the good news of Christ with all children through fun-filled and life-changing lessons which help them to discover and receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

Our sessions run concurrently with adult services at 10.00 am. Each session usually involves praise and worship, Bible teachings and prayer with related activities or games.

Each group is taught using a contemporary, highly interactive Bible-based curriculum, which also takes into account different learning styles, enabling each child to participate fully in lessons.

We also run a Teen Church concurrently with our children’s church. All teenagers are welcome!
