About Us

The Garden of the LORD is one of the parishes of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).  RCCG, our church denomination, has over 5,000 parishes around the world. It was started in 1952 and is led by Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer. It holds annually one of the largest global Christian gatherings called the Holy Ghost Congress where signs, miracles and wonders are demonstrated by the power of the Holy Ghost in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Similar regional events are held all over the world including London where thousands gather bi-annually for an all night programme known as the Festival of Life. On the 15th of October 2010, Cardiff hosted the first Festival of Life event in Wales which was themed “Let the Wind Blow” .

Our parish’s name, the Garden of the LORD is taken from Isaiah 51 verse 3 and it symbolises our identity and outlook. Please go to our Church vision and core values for more details. If you are not already part of any Bible believing church, we invite you to come, join us for our services and experience refreshing times in God’s presence.

Church Vision

“Preparing For The Lord a People of Power, Purpose and Passion”

Mission and Core Values

Our mission statement and core values are taken from Isaiah 51:1-12. In a nutshell we seek to be:

  • A Listening Church – We seek to constantly listen to God and to hear what His Spirit is saying to us as part of the body of Christ.
  • A Pursuing Church – Our heart desire is to pursue after God and make Him first in all we do.
  • A Seeking Church – Our goal is to seek God with all our hearts and to cultivate an intimate and passionate relationship with Him.
  • A Looking Church – Our vision is to look to Jesus constantly for He is the author and finisher of our faith.
  • A Faithful Church – Our goal is to have complete faith in God and to be found faithful in all He has called us to do.
  • A Comforting Church – We aim to be a channel of God’s comfort and compassion to all who are hurting, brokenhearted and weary and who need rest for their souls.
  • An Intercessionary Church – We are a praying church for we recognise that prayer is a necessary lifeline in our Christian walk.
  • A Worshipping Church – Our hearts yearn to worship God more and more for He alone deserve the praise and adoration.
  • A Joyful Church – We are a church of joy and gladness…our joy is not determinant on circumstances, our joy comes from the LORD.
  • A Soul Winning Church –  We have a mandate to win souls for Christ and  to reconcile “prodigal sons and daughters” back to God.
  • A Holy Church – Above all we seek to walk in God’s holiness, purity and righteousness for we know without holiness, no man shall see the LORD.

These are our core values so come, share them with us!

God the Father
We believe in God the Father, the Creator of heaven and earth.
God the Son
We believe in Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son who was conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary.
The Death and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was crucified for the sins of all mankind. He rose on the third day and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father in glory and power.

God the Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead. He is the divine Comforter and Teacher and He dwells in us and guides us according to the will of the Father.
The Gift of Salvation

We believe that salvation is freely given to all who accept Jesus Christ in faith as their personal Lord and Saviour.

The Blood of Jesus Christ

We believe in the efficacy of the atoning blood of Jesus Christ which was shed for us at Calvary and cleanses us from all sin and grants us access into the presence of God.

Water Baptism

We believe that as Christ’s disciples, we must follow in His example and be baptised by immersion in water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit Baptism
We believe that the Holy Spirit baptism is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit baptism helps us to be effective witnesses for Jesus Christ and is evidenced by the gift of speaking in tongues.
Divine Healing

We believe that Jesus Christ our Lord also paid the price for our healing and that by His wounds we are healed.

The Holy Bible
We believe in the Bible as the infallible Word of God.
Sanctification
We believe that God has called us as His children to live sanctified and holy lives through the enabling grace of the Holy Spirit.
The Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ will come again in His glory and in power. That those dead in Christ will rise first and those alive in Christ will be in the presence of God for eternity.
